It's Food Blogger Connect time again and this year it's going to be a really phenomenal weekend! Two and half days jam-packed with food, fun, roundtables and hands-on workshops, networking, awards and some really cool prizes.
Food Blogger Connect 2010 will take place on June 4th, 5th & 6th in London. You don't want to miss it!
Click here and you'll discover who will be speaking -the line-up is phenomenal, including bloggers such as Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, Béatrice Peltre of La Tartine Gourmande and Luisa Weiss of The Wednesday Chef- and the gorgeous venues, the itinerary and other relevant information. You will notice that the cost has gone up from last year as you will also notice there is so much more on offer! Dinner, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, BBQ, blind folded wine tasting, cocktails and brunch are all offered before, after and in between the information-packed workshops and roundtables. There will be prop swaps, awards and many prizes like cupcake decorating classes from Bea's of Bloomsbury worth over £100 each! And if you thought last year's goodie bags were awesome, just wait until you see the goodies this time around...
Spreading FBC out over Friday, Saturday and Sunday allows everyone the chance to actively participate in ways we couldn't last year - not only hands-on workshops, but Q & A during and after each discussion. We will all have loads of time over the three days to meet, get to know each other, exchange, share, network. For everyone's convenience we have been able to break down the event into three days so you can attend what and when you like - just one day or two or the whole weekend.
Of course, if you come on Saturday, there is a possibility that you'll meet Baby Saffron who will probably make a short appearance to wave Hello.
For some of you who attended last year's event, you'll know first hand how, even in one short day, we all learned so much and how much fun we had meeting and getting to know each other. Now just think of that but times three! You don't need to look twice at the itinerary to know that you are going to come out more prepared and inspired than ever to turn your blog into an even bigger success, whatever your vision!
You'll need to hurry as registration is open and tickets are selling fast! Space is limited (we want to keep it intimate) so make that decision quick! Got a question? Drop us a line on the FBCblog or email info@foodbloggerconnect.com.
For a preview of the weekend's fun, watch this video (put together by yours truly):
We will resume our regularly scheduled programming of food and other posts in a couple of days, but before that...
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said about Food Blogger Connect this past weekend, but here's what my checklist looks like:
Have fun! -check
Finally meet a lot of great people face to face -check
Try to take a lot of pictures -well not so check but I also knew everyone else would be clicking away (there are many posts and many other pictures to see besides my very few)
Have fun! -check
Make lifelong friendships established online concrete -check
Eat a lot of good food -check
And HAVE FUN! -check
I don't think I could have imagined in my wildest dreams that all those tweets and emails and chats would turn into this little group that is my blog family. Some photos courtesy of Deeba of some us meeting for dinner on Friday night:
The Twins: Deeba and Jamie
The Boys: Mowie and Alessio
More of the gals: Jamie, me, Pam and Beth
Slightly over two years ago, I read a post on What's for Lunch Honey? where Meeta talked about how difficult it was to find pecans at affordable prices and in reasonable rather than micro quantities in Germany. Having just brought back a couple of pounds of pecans from the U.S., I emailed her and offered to send her a big bag of them just for the pleasure of seeing what she would make with them. She replied back insisting that she would have to send me something in exchange, and thus a blog friendship was born over email. Occasionally we'd write each other and do Daring Bakers' Challenges together, and then with the Twitterization of the universe, we started talking to each other one way or another almost every day.
The awesome Presenting Triplets: Jeanne, Jamie and Meeta
First off, if you will be checking in with me tomorrow on the Daring Bakers' Challenge, I will be posting late, hopefully right after the weekend. We are moving from one house into another and it is complete chaos around here at the moment. I did the challenge and simply haven't photographed it yet -that will be interesting in itself- so if I succeed in what I will be attempting to do with it, I will be delighted for you to come back and check on what I've done, but for now just know the post will be late.
And now to Food Bloggers Connect...
It's time! This Saturday, some of us will be meeting each other for the first time after months and sometimes years of virtual friendship, I can't wait!
The official FBC website is now up with teasers from our guest speakers and all the details you could possibly want about the event so please check it out.
Finally, we've added a Marylebone Village Food Lovers' Walk which will take place on Sunday the 29th. We're meeting in front of the Baker Street Tube Station at 11:30AM so if you're around and would like to join, please do, the more the merrier!
And for all you Americans out there, Happy Thanksgiving Day! BZV67BQV73DS
FOOD BLOGGER CONNECT 2009: MAKING IT THE FOOD BLOGGING EVENT OF THE YEAR…
… is up to you!
You’ve heard it being twitted about and seen it posted on Facebook. Wonder what all the buzz is about? Food Blogger Connect 2009! And you can be a part of it!
So far, the response has been electric and we’ve reached further than we ever dreamed; food bloggers are not only training in from all parts of London, not only driving in from all over Great Britain, but they will be flying in from as far away as France, Germany, India and Singapore! And you can be a part of the fun, exciting speakers and great food! Just RSVP as soon as possible and hop aboard!
Food Blogger Connect is a fabulous party/conference being held in London on Saturday, November 28 at the Lebanese restaurant Levant. This is your chance to meet your fellow food bloggers face to face over a great meal, get to know them better, share ideas, network, plan. We will have an incredible line-up of speakers – some of whom you can help choose depending on what food-blog-related topics you want to hear about – with time for questions and discussion. And as a plus, we are all meeting up on Sunday for breakfast and a morning foodie tour.
Please note: We are calling for your ideas, and we look forward to hearing from you about the topics you’d like covered and who you would love to see cover them. Food Blogger Connect is the first Food Blogging conference to take place in the U.K and we need you to take the lead.
Here are the nominated topics and speakers. (Your vote counts and so does your opinion. If you think we've missed someone who would be a great speaker or overlooked an important topic then please be sure to let us know by emailing us foodbloggerconnect@gmail.com.)
We’ve shared recipes, great meals eaten and glimpsed into each other’s lives through our food blogs, we’ve shared photos and revealed personalities on Facebook, we’ve given cooking tips and encouragement on Twitter. Now isn’t it about time that we met?
In this day and age of the internet, we have lost our connectedness. Friendships are made and lost, love affairs carried on across oceans, bonds created though on different continents, fans found and clubs joined, yet how much of this is 140 spaces maximum or quick status updates? Disconnected and discombobulated, we can only carry on so far in the blogosphere.
So let's meet! Some of us have already met but there are still many of us who haven't. Everyone and anyone is invited from long-time bloggers, newbies or even people thinking of starting their own food blog. Food Blogger Connect 2009 is the time to connect: get to know your fellow food bloggers and meet new ones, share tips and ideas, network and organize projects. And have a blast doing it!
Food blogging no longer need be a lonely, individual sport. Forget those days when you feel like it’s going no where, when you wonder if you really belong to that great, funny, passionate family of bloggers out there. Come and connect, be inspired, partake of our favorite food group!
Food Blogger Connect 2009 is the first meet up of its kind (the first official conference being held in the U.K) and is being held in London on November 28, 2009 at Levant from 1 p.m to 5 p.m, serving delicious Lebanese cuisine. Don’t miss it! After all, Food Bloggers share!
