Coconut and a Guest Post
While she's away across the pond, my lovely friend Jamie, of Life's a Feast, needed a bit of help with blog maintenance. Being without a computer can be tough going when you're trying to post regularly. So I volunteered to help with "upkeep" by posting a cake (or two) over there. If you don't read Jamie's blog, I suggest you start doing so because she is truly a word-genie. I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much guest-posting for her.
A main ingredient and the crux of the story: coconut. I hope you check it out over here and enjoy it.

This is a fascinating photo of a coconut. You inspire me in so many ways! Thanks for guest posting for me, Hilda.
Heh, A. cut the first one of the last 3 open like this and promptly called me down to show me because, he said, he'd never gotten it to do that neatly before, so I took it upstairs for a picture. Thank you for letting me guest post for you Jamie, xoxo.
Hilda, you said the coconuts were salty. Do you mean they were actually salty to atste or just weren't sweet?
I'm asking because I come from coconut country in India and have never met a salty coconut! :)
How DID he cut that coconut!!
Aparna: It was bizarre, the water was salty so we tasted the flesh to be sure and it was salty too!
Y: He didn't know you drill the eyes and then heat it to split it open because he's only done it with a machete before, so he was using a big knife and a hammer and somehow the shell came off like a cup. Then he cut the top off.
Loved your guest post - the husband going out zillion times to buy ingredients is something you can see over here several times a week... And forgeting to use the coconut, HILARIOUS!
Congrats to A. on the coconut opening - just perfect!
That coconut is calling my name Hilda...not to be eaten but to be unrobed so neatly! LOL...patient A to have done the coconut trip so many times! Loved your post at Jamies...
Rushing over. Coconuts - I wish I used them more, and not just as uncomfortable bra cups.

Funny how you can make even a simple coconut look amazing!
That is a very pretty coconut!
that is fun!
Yum, coconut. Although the one time I tried to open one, it certainly didn't look like that!
I'm glad I'm not the only one to remember an ingredient after it's in the oven.
Oh, I love just about anything coconut!
Love the smell of coconut.
Gorgeous shot of the coconut!
I love anything with coconut in it, let it be food or cosmetics! ;)
