Battersea Park

So what does it say about me that every time I started to write the name of this park we regularly go to here in London which is called Battersea Park, I typed Battery Park which is in New York. The mind has a weird way of nudging you even when it knows that a nudge is not required.
There's not much to tell about Battersea Park,  it's just one of the parks I like best of the ones available to us because it's usually less crowded than other parks, it's on the water, and there are fountains and installations there which are fun to photograph. Even though I love Fall, it's nice to think about the summer that is now gone...

Now it's too cold to eat an ice cream cone in a London park.
Battersea Park

The extra-furry dog below is one of our two; she's the spazzy, brings-the-crazy, younger one. The odds of catching her in a moment "at rest" where I can take a picture of her are akin to those of your average politician being honest, so, when I see an opportunity, I take it.
Battersea Park

Sometimes, flowers that are monochromatic are more soothing to look at for me than ones bursting with vivid colors. I don't know what these are (anyone?) but I especially liked the way they looked against the color of the plants behind them.
Battersea Park

This little guy was the antithesis of our spazz-fest (whose name is Myrka by the way). He was just like tranquil water to her lively fountain.

Aw, is that a bassett hound? Love the picture of the benches.

Haven't a clue about the name of those flowers but the pic is beautiful. The one with the benches - should be called waiting:-)

I love the Basset Hilda. He is ADORABLE, and the 2 make such a funny pair! Lovely post, great pictures! I think those are poppies...sans petals. If you shake them you would get little black seeds. When we were young, we would turn the colourful petals down & make little dolls out of them. You've got 'our doll heads' in that picture!

Just to be clear, the basset hound isn't ours, he's just a nice fella we bumped into in the park. Our other pooch is also a Keeshund, albeit a very old and sometimes cranky about being photographed one.

Thank y'all.

I have a crush on Miss Spazzitastic.

Such lovely pictures. I tried to lick that clotted cream icecream cone, but my screen doesn't taste remotely like it. Or I hope it doesn't. :-D

Some really great shots here -- love the reflection in the water. Our dog doesn't get out much any more so no park walk for us. Thanks for taking me for a walk through yours!

You and my husband would so get along! Your stunning, always stunning, photographs are so similar to his and you guys would have so much to talk about. I love seeing what you see through your camera lens. Love the spazzy dog, too.

Oh wow, this post triggered so many memories of the year I lived in London (I studied at Le Cordon Bleu there.) I never visited Battersea Park...I lived in East London (Hackney!) and went to parks like London Fields, and Victoria Park.

ps: Your photos are so artistic...I love the splashing water in the fountain shot :)

Looks like an incredible park (and much more enticing than being outside where I am in Minnesota right now!)!

I love the pictures of the dogs; I have similar problems when I try to take pictures of my spazzy cat.

The dog reminds me of The Pioneer Woman's dog... (I guess any bassett hound would)

I want to eat the clotted cream ice cream, I badly want to go to that park.

The picture with the splashing water is prize-winning.

I thought the flowers were black-eyed susans but maybe not.
