I don't know plant names, sue me.

I'm plant-challenged for the most part; what is the name of this flower?.. anyone?.. anyone?.. Bueller?.. Bueller?..
What kind of flower is this?

Isn't it foxglove? Or did you want the proper name?

Yes, it is a Foxglove :)

Also called Digitalis purpurea, containing digitalis toxin, a cardiac glycoside used as a heart medication. (Sue me, I love plant names, and I'm a med student...)

Sorry, I got caught up in the Name that Flower game and forgot to say how lovely I think the photo is and the color is fabulous ..
I love your photography.
I also love your bread pudding but we won't discuss that now :)

I continue to be plant-challenged because the rest of you clearly are not.
Shaz, I'm afraid if there were a prize, it would be Krista's for the taking, but for now there isn't so I hope you'll just be satisfied with enlightening me.
Candice, I think we should start a game where the object is for you to find a way to mention my bread pudding in the conversation. Or maybe a bread pudding version of "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon". ;)
Jean, I know digitalis the medication but not that it came from this beautiful flower, and I wouldn't sue you, otherwise how would I know to use this if I had a heart condition?
Marion! Qu'est-ce que ça fait plaisir que tu fasses coucou! Tu ne peux pas savoir! Grosses bises. =)

oh c'est drole ca - funny coincidence, my mother-in-law just sent me photos of her garden, and i kept asking her all the names of the flowers... not that i would know the names in french (or english for that matter). and voila, there were these foxgloves/digitalis, that i kept asking her about, since they were my favorite. "les petites cloches", i said... but alas, she didn't know.

however you call them in either language, your photo is beautiful !! where did you spot them ?

ps - i'm ready to play 6 degrees of bread pudding when you are. bring it on ! :)

I have one of these beautiful plants. And yes, I too am plant challenged, but I know this by the name digitalis. I didn't know it was also called foxglove. Thanks for the info, commenters! Either way, it is a beautiful flower.

I join the club- apart from a small selection of plants which I particularly like, all the others are called 'plants' in my books. Love this shot.you did wonders for my photography at FBC.

OMG this is too funny because I married into a family that know ALL the common and scientific names of all plants, flowers and trees not to mention birds and animals. Ugh! JP makes fum of me all the time (imagine caveman grunting voice): "Look! Bird! Look! Bug! Look flower!" Ha Ha Ha at least you take stunning photos of them!
